Lullaby

Sleep, my darling, sleep, my dear.
Close your eyes — I'm always near.
Where you wander in your dreams,
There is light and silver streams.

Softly rocking, hush and rest,
Cradle sways in moonlight’s nest.
Near the pond with fishes bright,
Glowing softly in the night.

Hops and grapes above you grow,
Whispers in the breeze they blow.
Stars are blinking, blue and high,
Like sweet candles in the sky.

In the cradle, pillows white,
Feathers soft from swan in flight.
I will kiss you, slow, my dear.
